Summer Exhibition 2018 Rules
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
ST. ANDREWS ART CLUB - SUMMER EXHIBITION 2018
Saturday 14th July - Sunday 29 July 2018
In the Club Rooms. 14c Argyle Street, St. Andrews
HANDING IN: Monday 9th July 10 - 11 am or 5-7 pm in the Clubrooms
Members may submit up to FIVE works. THREE will be hung: TWO reserves
Because of space limitation, you may submit:
ONE large picture measuring not more than 36" x 24" including the frame.
Smaller pictures should measure not more than 20" x 24" including the frame.
Pictures will be sold 'off the walls'. Selling artist's reserve pictures will fill their 'sold' gap.
Art Club 15% sales commission. ALL WORK MUST BE FOR SALE. Selling artists will be
paid a week after the exhibition ends. HANGING FEE: £1 per work. (Reserves free)
PREVIEW - Friday 13 July - 5.30 - 6.30 pm Art Club Member + 1 guest
SUBMISSION SHEET: Please enter all work on the accompanying Sheet & bring with
you when handing in. Please write clearly. Each picture MUST ALSO have an adhesive
label on the back with title, medium, artist's name and price to match details on
Submission Sheet exactly.
PREPARATION OF EXHIBITS
Each picture must be in a tidy secure frame fitted with rings and a taut cord ready for hanging.
Watercolours, drawings and pastels should have a mount between the picture and the glass.
OILS MUST BE COMPLETELY DRY. Unframed work is not acceptable. If submitting sculpture please check to ensure that the club stands are suitable.
EXHIBITION RULES & REGULATIONS All work must be original. It is illegal to offer copies of other artists' work for sale without written permission. Contemporary printed techniques are not acceptable.
Submission of an exhibit implies an undertaking on the part of the artist to accept the Hanging Committee's decision on the positioning of the exhibits.
Rejection of Works
The Hanging committee reserves the right to reject any exhibit.
Works not properly prepared or in excess of permitted measurements for the exhibition may
INVIGILATION DUTIES Exhibitors are expected to undertake at least TWO spells of invigilation. The Rota will be filled in on Handing In Day - Monday 10th July. Please provide a substitute if you are unable to do an agreed shift. The Membership List will be available to assist with this.
INSURANCE Insurance of members' work and the safety of personal items is the responsibility of each individual. Damage incurred by Club property will be recompensed.
